APR 2015

EPD Competition is an annual activity for ECE students taking EE3003 / EE3004 Electronic Product Design. The competition aims at promoting the interest of our students in learning electronics and developing students’ generic skills through project learning. Two semesters of planning and hard work has brought 6 selected teams putting their electronic design and programming knowledge to the test.

The theme of this year is Smart Robot Car. Using an Arduino based robot, the goal is to pick a plastic cube and deliver it to a bin through a hoop after travelling on a customized track to test maneuverability. The students utilized DesignSpark PCB to complete their PCB layout designs with component sponsorship by RS Components International.

Judging criteria included the speed of completion, efficiency of the pickup, delivery, track guidance system, and the overall design of the robot.  Congratulations to the winning teams!
