To maintain Hong Kong's competitiveness, the Government has taken steps to boost technology based high value-added services and industries. 'Electronics' & 'Communications’ are two of the seven areas identified for focused support. Manpower projection shows that these technology areas will have the fastest growth among all employment sectors. This is evident to the consumer with the boom in wireless technology such as 3G mobile, GPS and WiFi; internet technology such as broadband and digital radio/television. Even in the banking, finance and business sectors, personnel with a solid background in technology are in great demand, in this increasingly complex technological age.
