The department welcomes exchange students from all corners of the
world and encourages our students to join overseas exchange programmes.
Apart from taking the taught courses offered by EE, international
exchange students can also benefit from the following two placement
schemes that have offered valuable training opportunities in different
locations including Hong Kong, the Pearl River Delta, Shanghai,
Suzhou, Singapore and Japan. In 2004, the two placement schemes
were awarded the ISO9001:2000 accreditation - a step forward in
our continued strive for excellence.
Industrial Attachment Scheme (IAS):
First launched by EE Department in 2000, the Scheme is now managed
by the Co-operative Education Centre of the College. It is a placement
scheme of 8 - 9 weeks in a real corporate / industrial environment
under the co-supervision of a professor and an engineer mentor of
the partner company. So far, over 200 corporations have joined the
Scheme as partner companies. Click here
for details.
Co-operative Education Scheme (CES):
Students can also opt to join the Co-operative Education Scheme
on the recommendation of the partner company after the IAS. This
is an internship of 9 - 12 months for students to gain working experience
while completing their studies with time release. Some students
got direct job offer by the partner companies upon completion of
the scheme.
