1. DOs and DON'Ts in Manuscript Preparation

Manuscript submissions before the submission due date are advisable to allow additional time for corrections. Slight deviations from the provided template will be accepted; however, to preserve the professional look of the published materials, we do require consistency in formatting.

Your electronic files should be sent in a .doc format. To maintain good printing quality, we ask that you:

  1. Insert all of your diagrams and graphics/photos directly into the word file.
  2. Use only white background for text and figures so as to obtain good contrast and readability.
  3. Scan your black and white images at 300dpi and your color images at 600dpi.  In some cases, the quality of images printed on high resolution laser printers may be sufficient.  Please check with the Conference Secretariat.
  4. If inserting large images, follow the steps below:
    • Set the bit density to 300 or 600 dpi in a photo program;
    • Resize the photo to the size you wish to have in the final paper;
    • Insert your image from the smaller file as it results in much smaller word files.
  5. Papers submitted via email should not exceed 3MB in size for the entire electronic document.

We request that you use the manuscript template attached in this message.  This template is also posted on the conference website.  It includes the correct borders, column layout, and styles for Title, Section Headers and Text.  The template is best suited for:

Template_Word.doc - MS Word 7 (Office '97/'00/'XP) for Win 95/98/2000/NT/XP

We also request that you name your files according to the following format: 'ag111.doc or agit111.doc' where 'ag111 or agit111' stands for 'Abstract Number AG111 or AGIT111' and the '.doc' is the file extension of an MS Word document.  If you do not know your abstract number, please use your last name to name your file(s), e.g. "hood1.doc", "hood2.doc", etc.  If you have several files for the same paper such as an MS Word file and several image files with figures, name the files in the following way:
¡@

  • ag111a.doc or agit111.doc is the WORD file;
  • ag111b.bmp or agit111b.bmp is the 1st image file;
  • ag111c.tif or agit111c.tif is the 2nd image file, etc
