To be held in conjunction with

The Shanghai International Symposium on Nonlinear Science and Application 2003

Shanghai, June 9-13, 2003

Scope:  The Second Asia-Pacific Workshop on Chaos Control and Synchronization will be held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University on 7-8 June 2002, as a Satellite Conference of the Shanghai International Symposium on Nonlinear Science and Applications (Shanghai NSA’03). This Workshop is organized by the Centre for Chaos Control and Synchronization, City University of Hong Kong and hosted by the Centre for Complex Networks and Control and the Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The workshop is sponsored by the following organizations:

·        IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS)

·        IEEE CASS Nonlinear Circuits and Systems Technical Committee

·        Center for Nonlinear and Complex Systems, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China

The main purpose of this Workshop is to bring together leading researchers and experts worldwide, especially those from the Asia-Pacific region, to further promote and develop the cutting-edge research on chaos control-synchronization theory and its engineering applications.

Main Topics: Topics of interests include but not limited to:

·                Bifurcation analysis and control

·                Chaos analysis, control and anti-control

·                Chaos synchronization and anti-synchronization

·                Chaos-based digital encryption and communications

·                Chaotic neural networks, electronics, circuits and systems

·                Control and synchronization of complex networks

Organizing Committee:

Guanrong Chen (CityU of Hong Kong)

Xinzhi Liu (Waterloo U, Canada)

Xiao Fan Wang (Shanghai Jiao Tong U, China)

Yugeng Xi (Shanghai Jiao Tong U, China)

Xinghuo Yu (RMIT, Australia)

Registration fees: The registration fee for regular participants is US$100, which includes one program book (with paper abstracts), daily coffee and meals, and one banquet on June 8. The registration fee for students is US$50, which includes the same items described above.

Attendees who want to participate in NSA’03 need to pay a separate registration fee (see the website of NAS’03 below for detail).

Paper Submission:

Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers or detailed abstract electronically in pdf, ps or Word format to

   Prof. Xiao Fan Wang: xfwang@ieee.org

Selected papers will be further reviewed and then published in a special issue of the international journal of Dynamics of Continuous, Discrete & Impulsive Systems

Important deadlines:

March 31, 2003:      Detailed abstract submission

 April 15, 2003:         Acceptance notification
