Jun-24-1999 I will have my honeymoon in Europe from Jun-25-1999 to Jul-23-1999. I will not bring my Newton MP with me that I will not be able to handle any enquries nor registrations. Sorry for any inconvenient.
Oct-9-1998 AutoContrast 1.01 is releasd. This version fixed a bug in the background job and increase the performance of the background contrast checking routine.
Sep-9-1998 AutoContrast is released. You can now sit there and have the suitable contrast in different temperatures.

Introduction

Have you ever find that you have to tune the contrast of your Newton MP a couple of times every day? Have you ever feel tired to adjust the contrast when you walked into an air-conditioned room from a hot place, or walked into a warm room from the cool environment? AutoContrast can help you!!

AutoContrast is a package that will learn your contrast settings in different ambient temperatures, so that it will automatically adjust the contrast when the ambient temperature changes. Therefore no more adjustments needed when you travel from a warm place to a cool place or from a cool place to a warm place.

Installation

IMPORTANT!! Open extra drawer, set a suitable contrast by sliding the contrast bar, and tap the "Contrast" to set the centering position of contrast slider.
Check the lower and upper limit of the contrast slider to see if the screen will become too dark or too light to see anything. Note that AutoContrast will only operate within this range.
Open the preference roll and select "AutoContrast".
Adjust the contrast using the slider or the arrow buttons so that the icon appears to be a square an tap the "Add Point" button to add a point.
After adding a few different points pairs of temperatures and contrasts in different situation, AutoContrast can give a comfortable contrast in different temperatures.
