SysPatch 0.6b is released. This version fixed some minor bugs in version 0.5b and
added fixes in Notes that the notes will sometimes scroll to the end
automatically while editing it. The heap eatup problem when using find in
NewtWorks is not easy to fix since it is the bug of the build in find function.
I am still investigating into it to see if I can do anything.

SysPatch 0.5b is released. This version fixed a problem in Super -10061 Fix
and add many fixes in I/O Box filing, Dates, sound problems. Please check the
features section for more details. I am now investigating the heap eatup problem
when using Find in NewtWorks, hoping that I can make a fix in next version.
Introduction
System Patch is an extension which fixes some bugs that Newton OS 2.1
introduced. Since Apple will not or may not be able to fix these bugs, I
wrote this extension to serve the Newton community so that they can use a more
bug free Newton. :)
Features
- -10061 workaround method #1 (Power Off -10061 Fix): This method re-cache all
activated packages during power-off the Newton. If this option is enabled, a
delay between the power button is toggled and the Newton is powered off should be
experienced. The length of the delay depends on the number of the packages
installed, the more the number of packages, the longer the delay.
- -10061 workaround method #2 (Super -10061 Fix): This method re-cache all
activated packages one by one with the setted frequency. If this option is
enabled, the performance of the Newton will drop a little bit. The frequency
setting means the time delay in ms between two package re-caching. The smaller
the number, the more frequent the packages are re-cached.
- Fixes preference roll scrolling problem with scroll arrow enchancement.
- Fixes I/O Box problem in soup cursor caching so that the cache data can be
garbage collected during heap memory low.
- Fixes I/O Box problem in heap eating so that it will release heap memory
after closing.
- Fixes I/O Box problem in filing so that the selected items will be
deselected after filing.
- Fixes I/O Box problem in auto filing so that auto filing will be activated
only if the items resides in "Unfiled" folder.
- Fixes Dates problem in storing the current view selection preferences.
- Fixes rollover problem for repeating ToDos.
- Fixes sound volume recovery problem in global function
PlaySoundIrregardlessAtVolume(sndFrame, volume). This problem will cause louder
sound in modem dialing after an Alarm is activated.
- Fixes Notes automatically scroll to end problem when editing it.
