Dr. Wong was born in Hong Kong. He graduated with a
B.Sc.(EE) degree from The Chinese University
of Hong Kong and then obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. After graduation, Dr. Wong was appointed as a
University Lecturer in the Department. He was later re-titled as Assistant
Professor and Associate Professor in 1995 and 2001, respectively.
Dr. Wong's current research interests include chaos, cryptography and neural
networks. He has published over 100 papers in 35 international mathematics, physics and
engineering journals, in the fields of nonlinear dynamics, cryptography, neural
networks and optics. He is a member of
the Centre for Chaos and Complex Networks, City University of Hong Kong, and the Smart Card Design Centre funded by the
Innovation and Technology Commission, Government of the HKSAR.
Dr. Wong is a Senior Member of The Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is a Chartered Engineer
and a Member of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) , and
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (formerly The Institution of
Electrical Engineers, IEE). He has been serving in the committee of the
Specialized Section in Computing & Control, IEE Hong Kong since 1995. He was the Hon. Secretary from 1997 to
1999, Vice-Chairman in 1999-2000, Chairman in 2000-01, Immediate Past Chairman in
2001-02, and Past Chairman in 2002-03. Currently, he serves as the Technical Activities
Coordinator in the Executive Committee of IEEE Hong Kong
Section. He is also an editor of The HKIE Transactions.
Dr. Wong is a member of the Advisory Committee of
International Cryptology Conference 2010 (Cryptology 2010). He is a keynote/invited speaker of the following conferences:
