Dr. Cheng Wang received his B.S. degree in Microelectronics from Tsinghua University in 2012. Afterwards, he joined Harvard University as a Ph.D. student in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, advised by Prof. Marko Loncar. He received his S.M. and Ph.D. degrees, both in Electrical Engineering from Harvard University, in May 2015 and May 2017, respectively. From 2017 – 2018, Cheng conducted research as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard, before joining City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor in June 2018. Dr. Wang's research focuses on the design and nanofabrication technology of integrated photonic devices and circuits. His current research effort focuses on realizing integrated lithium niobate photonic circuits for applications in optical communications, millimeter-wave/terahertz technologies, nonlinear optics, and quantum photonics. Since joining CityU, Dr. Wang has received a number of awards in both research and teaching, including the NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Fund (HK & Macau) (2019), the Croucher Innovation Award (2020), The President's Award, CityU (2020), EE Outstanding Teaching Award (2019/20), College Outstanding Teaching Award (2020/21).
Dr. Sun received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D degrees all from Harbin Institute of Technology, before joining CityU as a postdoc in 2020. His research focuses on Micro & Nano Photonics, Microcavity, Perovskite lasers and integrated devices.
Ke received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree from University of Science & Technology Beijing, in 2014 and 2017 respectively. He joined CHENG lab in 2018 as a Ph.D. student at CityU.
Jingwei received her B.S. degree from Sichuan University. She joined CHENG lab in 2018 as a Ph.D. student at cityU.
Xiaoting received her B.S. degree and M. S. degree from Heilongjiang University and Nankai University, in 2016 and 2019 respectively. She joined CHENG lab in 2019 as a Ph. D. student at CityU. Xiaoting is a recipient of HKPFS.
Yiwen received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Shandong University and Zhejiang University in 2016 and 2019, respectively. She joined CHENG lab in 2019 as a Ph.D. student at cityU.
Hanke received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Xi'an University of Technology and Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He joined CHENG lab in 2020 as a Ph.D. student at cityU.
Chengfei received his B.S. degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He joined CHENG lab in 2020 as a Ph.D. student at cityU.
Zhaoxi received his B.S. and M.S. degrees both from Tianjin University. His research interests include Lithium Niobate Photonics, Optical Amplifiers, Micro- and Nano-fabrication. He is currently a PhD student at CityU co-supervised by Prof. Edwin Pun and Dr. Cheng Wang.
Zhenzheng received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Anhui University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2014 and 2017, respectively. He started working at Huawei in 2017 as an optical technology engineer. He joined CHENG lab in 2021 as a Ph.D. student at CityU.
Yikun received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He joined CHENG lab in 2021 as a Ph.D. candidate at CityU.
