Chess Bot to enable VIP to play western chess in Chess.com

 

Chess.com is a very popular web site to play Western Chess. Unfortunately, it has no interface to enable VIP to play. Final year project students Kwok Tsz Lik and Ng Ka Long has developed an application to enable VIP to play in Chess.com.

MuseScore plugin for VIP

 

MuseScore is an open source music composition and playing software.

Final year project student Wong Tsz Ching has developed a MuseScore Plugin to help VIP to read music sheets more easily. The plugin is free and can be found in

Description:

 

We hope to facilitate VIP to read music sheets without the burden of learning music braille. The app speaks out the music information (e.g. note name and duration) of a bar in natural language reminiscent of a human teacher.

 

There is also a version which displays the music sheet. It aims to enable VIP and normal sighted musicians to discuss music together.

 

It is developed by final year project students Tsang Ming Kin, Wong Wai Ying and Wong Tim Yeung.

Description

 

This app is a Chinese Chess game for the visually impaired.


When you tap the elements on the screen, the app will read out the information for the elements. For example, If you tap chess in the game page, the app will tell the the type, color, coordinate of the chess.


The app is now supporting 3 game modes. 1) Local PVP: you may play with your friend on a single device. 2) Online PVP: you may play with other players through the internet. 3) PVC: you may play with the computer under the local mode. 4) Tutorial Mode: you may learn basic of Chinese Chess Game when playing this mode.

 

It is developed by final year project students Lai Yik Him Sherman, Chan Cheuk Fung, Yiu Chi Pan and Lai Lai Yin.

 

 

Electronic Guide Dog

Description:

 

The application will act as a guide dog, as an auxiliary tool to guide the visually impaired people (VIP) to the destination in both indoor and outdoor environments. Under the guidance of the navigation, the VIP can easily follow the instructions from the recorded path. The path can be recorded by themselves or received from other users.

 

It is developed by final year project student Lam Yeung Shun.
