The conference is an annual event organized by the Hong Kong Institution of Science and hosted by one of the universities in Hong Kong. This is the third time City University of Hong Kong is hosting this event and the focus of this year is on the advances made by Hong Kong researchers in biomedical field that have world-wide impact.

The talks are opened to the general public, especially secondary school teachers and senior-year students, to bring their awareness on the achievements made by local scientists and opportunities in science and engineering.
