It is the mark of an educated mind to rest satisfied with the degree of precision which the nature of the subject

admits and not to seek exactness where only an approximation is possible.

DEMO 1   [PMG file, size: 4.5M]

A double inverted pendulum with varying loads, controlled by a Fuzzy PD controller (designed by G. Ron Chen and his team, see book [1] and paper [2] in the Publication List below) at one joint and a Fuzzy PI controller (designed by Hao Ying et al., see papers [5,12] in the Publication List below) at another joint. This DEMO was implemented by Edgar N. Sanchez and his team at the CINVESTAV, Guadalajara, Mexico.

So far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain. And so far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.

DEMO 2   [PMG file, size: 5.9M]

1. Several robots are equipped with Fuzzy PI, PD, or PI+D controllers (designed by G. Ron Chen et al., see book [1] and papers [2,5,6,12] in the Publication List below). This DEMO was implemented by Pitikhate Sooraksa and his team at the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Bangkok, Thailand. In this DEMO, the Legged Insect Robot uses the Fuzzy PD controllers (one at a joint), the Robot Guard uses the Fuzzy PI controller, and the Mobile Robot uses the Fuzzy PI+D controller.

2. A recently built robot at City University of Hong Kong is MARCH-II, in which the same fuzzy PI controller is implemented. [pdf 1] [pdf 2]
