Title

A Dual-polarized mmWave Mono-pulse Radar Antenna with 3D Tracking Capability Using GWG Techniques

Abstract

A dual-polarized and low-sidelobe monopulse radar antenna will be presented in this talk. Its 3D tracking capability is supported by series-fed slot subarrays and partially corporate-fed network using gap-waveguid techniques. The designed series-fed subarray with 20 elements exhibits more than 10% bandwidth. Taylor tapering between individual elements of the subarray and power-weighted feed network are used to suppress the sidelobe levels down to -20 dB. The null-depths of the differential pattner w.r.t. the sum patterns are less than -37 dB. A prototype has been made with five vertically integrated layers with high radiation efficiency, high power capacity, and flexible assembly capability.
