Learning is a game and group project is a good learning game. |
The objective of this course project is to encourage students to develop, implement and test/demonstrate image processing algorithms.
Students, working as groups of
6 or 7 students, will be required to complete an image processing related project during the semester. The project can be analysis/evaluation/comparison of existing techniques through a literature survey and then perform some experimental evaluations or implement a practical application.
Each group will choose or propose a topic of interest in the topics of image processing. Students are required to give a 15 minutes oral presentation of their selected topic and written project proposal and final report in a two-column conference paper format.
- Proposal - Due date 30th Sep 2019 (Week 5)
- This is a written project proposal in MS-Words format.
- Submit by email to cityuee5806@gmail.com
- Proposal must contain:
- Title
- Student Name, Student ID and Email Address of each student
- Summary with goals of the project in about 300 words. The detail description of the the project and the work to be carried out in about 2000 words.
- References
- 3 to 4 pages in single column format
- Oral Presentation, Final Report and Source Code
- Students are required to conduct survey, evaluation, comparision, or application implementation according to their proposals
- Present and demonstrate their finings and results in a 15-mintues oral presentation be to held on weeks 12 and 13.
- Write a final report of the project with format similar to a research conferenence paper in two-column format with 6 to 12 pages. - Due date 2nd Dec. 2019 (Week 14)
- The IEEE conference paper templates are avialble here and here is the A4 Template
- Students are also required to submit the source code and PPT for assessement.
- All the PPT, Final Report and Source Code are required to submit to course gmail account at cityuee5806@gmail.com
Project Directions
- Your passion is your compass.
- Something you are interested in or that may help your work or research
- Don’t need to develop something original, but should
- Read and describe relevant papers in literature
- Do some applications of relevant techniques
- Could investigate something we have covered briefly, or that is related to some topics in the course.
- Recommended Technical Lectures for Project Ideas
