The team led by Prof Derrick Jiang (Associate Professor) has won the Second Prize in Science and Technology Progress Award at the 12th China Power Supply Society (CPSS) Science and Technology Awards for the project titled “Key Techniques of High-Power-Density Wireless Power Transfer for UAVs”. The China Power Supply Society (CPSS), established in 1983 and operating under the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), is the only national-level organization in China dedicated to the power supply field. This prestigious recognition highlights the significant breakthroughs by Prof Jiang’s team in mechanisms of high power density, lightweight design and high reliability operation, and established efficient wireless power transfer theories for complex scenarios, delivering important scientific and engineering values for low altitude economy infrastructure and autonomous unmanned systems.
