Prof. Wang received his B.S. degree in Microelectronics from Tsinghua University in 2012, and his S.M. (2015) and Ph.D. (2017) degrees, both in Electrical Engineering from Harvard University, supervised by Prof. Marko Lončar. After conducting research as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard, he joined City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor in 2018, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. Prof. Wang's research focuses on the design and nanofabrication technology of integrated photonic devices and circuits. His current research effort focuses on realizing integrated lithium niobate photonic circuits for applications in optical communications, millimeter-wave/terahertz technologies, nonlinear optics, and quantum photonics. Since joining CityU, Prof. Wang has received a number of awards in both research and teaching, including the NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Fund (HK & Macau) (2019), the Croucher Innovation Award (2020), The President's Award, CityU (2020), 35 Innovators Under 35 (China), MIT Technology Review (2021), as well as EE Outstanding Teaching Award (2019/20&2020/21) and College Outstanding Teaching Award (2020/21). He is currently Senior Members of IEEE and Optica.

Dr. Feng received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Xi'an University of Technology and Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He joined CHENG lab in 2020 as a PhD student and obtained his doctoral degree in 2024. After completing one year of postdoctoral research in the group, he subsequently joined CityU as a Research Assistant Professor. His research interests include the design and nanofabrication technology of integrated lithium niobate and its applications in the microwave photonics and optical communications. He has received a series of awards in research and exhibitions, including the Outstanding Doctoral Research Award (2025), China's Top Ten Advances in Optics (2024), Rising Star in Microwave Photonics (2024), Silver Medal in Geneva International Exhibition of Invention (2024), as well as Gold medal in Asia Exhibition of Innovations and Inventions (2024).

Dr. Zeng received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D degrees all from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). He served as a research assistant at State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves, CityU in 2018. He joined Prof. Wang's group as a Postdoc in 2023. His research interests include integrated nano-photonic devices and microwave photonics.

Dr. Xie received his B.S. and Ph.D degrees from HUST and BUPT, in 2018 and 2023 respectively. From September 2022 to September 2023, he worked as a research assistant at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, with the support of the China Scholarship Council, under the supervision of Prof. José Capmany. He joined the CHENG lab as a Postdoc in January 2024. His research interests include integrated microwave photonics, optical signal processing and measurements, and optical frequency comb.

Dr. Tao received his B.S. and Ph.D degrees from UESTC and PKU, in 2017 and 2022 respectively. From Aug. 2022 to Apr. 2024, he worked as a senior engineer at Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. He joined the CHENG lab as a Postdoc in Apr. 2024. His research interests include integrated microwave photonics, and thin-film lithium niobate photonics.

Dr. Wang received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Beijing Institute of Technology and Tsinghua University, in 2020 and 2025 respectively. From 2022 to 2023, he worked as a visiting researcher in Complex media optics lab at École Normale Supérieure under the supervision of Prof. Sylvain Gigan. He joined CHENG lab as a Postdoc in August 2025.

Xiaoting received her B.S. degree and M. S. degree from Heilongjiang University and Nankai University in 2016 and 2019, respectively. She joined CHENG lab in 2019 as a Ph. D. student at CityU. Xiaoting is a recipient of HKPFS.

Chengfei received his B.S. degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He joined CHENG lab in 2020 as a Ph.D. student at cityU.

Zhenzheng received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Anhui University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2014 and 2017, respectively. He started working at Huawei in 2017 as an optical technology engineer. He joined CHENG lab in 2021 as a Ph.D. student at CityU.

Yikun received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He joined CHENG lab in 2021 as a Ph.D. candidate at CityU.

Haochuan received his B.S. and M.S. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and The Chinese University of Hongkong, Shenzhen in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He joined CHENG lab in 2022 as a Ph.D. candidate at CityU.

Zengyi holds a joint B.S. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the University of Glasgow (Hons, 1st), and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Fudan University specializing in visible-light-communication devices; his research focuses on high-speed VLC systems, GaN-based transmitters/receivers, and modulation, coding, and MIMO techniques for VLC, with six journal papers on Photonics Research, IEEE JLT, Opto-Electronic Science, etc., and five conference papers. He joined CHENG lab in 2025 as a visiting student at CityU.
