Contestants and audience learned lots of common technology knowledge throughout the competition. It was an afternoon full of claps, cheers as well as a strong smell of nervousness mixed with excitement. The winners fully demonstrated their quick wit and strong determination. If you want to experience what it is like, you must join us the next year when this EE Quiz Competition is held again.
The iconic speakers had attracted overwhelming responses from the participants.
It took about three hours for the hike and we were fascinated with the spectacular sea view and the stunning natural environment. The trip ended with a hot pot dinner in a Chinese restaurant in Mongkok. We took a lot of photos and everyone has had a lot of fun on that day. Connection between students and staff were developed and we look forwarding to having more research collaborations in new or interdisciplinary directions based on this foundation.
This year, a total of 58 posters were submitted and presented, and eight were selected to receive the Best Presenter Awards according to topical track. Participants enjoyed the interactions with peers and faculty members and the day rounded off with invaluable exchanges and conversations.
Dr Corrigan has been teaching at CityU since 1994 and works largely on faculty development at CityU.
The 3-day program was so packed but remarkably meaningful – the DAAs met with different parties that included EE management team, teaching and research team, new hires, students of all levels; and visited department’s state-of-the-art facilities in the lab area; for coming up with a wrap-up that concluded the visit with commendations of the department’s efforts, recommendations for department to sustain our leadership in the field, and constructive exchanges of good practices between different universities.
To begin, Mr Ian Huang, Founder and CEO of Digital Transaction Limited, was invited to share with us what soft skills really mean to professionals in the real-world workplace in his talk titled “How Engineers Could Shape The Future”.
The award ceremony was held on 9 January 2019 to celebrate among winners, secondary school teachers and EE professors.
The gatherings were very constructive in a way that good exchanges on university-industry collaborative proposals were carried out for a number of career-related and student projects namely Design Projects, Industrial Placement Scheme, Final Year Projects, 1-year Internship Program and Career Coaching.
More events fostering university-industry collaboration will be organized to bridge our students with industry friends and their potential future employers !
