Miss Ng Chak Lam (INFE, Yr-3), who teamed up with students from College of Business, The University of Hong Kong and The University of Science and Technology, has won the 1st Runner-up in JOS Innovation Awards 2017-18. Their winning project is called “Algotritionist”.
The theme of the competition this year is “Happy Ageing – Innovation Healthcare Solution”. There were 48 teams from different tertiary institutions joined and 9 were shortlisted to the final round. “Algotritionist” is a system with algorithms that will suggest possible meals combinations suitable for the elderly, and keep track of the elderly’s consumption of different food elements. The data collected will be useful for doctors to provide more precise treatment and nutrition plan.
JOS Innovation Awards have been established since 2015. It aims to inspire and nurture students in Hong Kong for their smart ideas and innovative thinking in improving industry performance.
