Gifted Education Fund

Edge AIoT and Microelectronics (EdgeAIoTM) Engineering Skills for Gifted Students

This 7-month programme teaches high school students essential knowledge and skills related to AI, IoT, edge computing, and microelectronics technologies. It also seeks to empower them with coding, engineering, and mathematics skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. These soft and hands-on skills will enable them to develop applications that can solve current and future world problems.

 

Intake: 50 students (Secondary 1-5, HKAGE member)
Programme Delivery Period: May 2025 - Dec 2025

The paper, co-authored by Prof Arindam Basu (Professor of EE), and scholars from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, was awarded the 2024 Materials Horizons Outstanding Paper Runner-up Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry. The winning paper is titled “High-performance one-dimensional halide perovskite crossbar memristors and synapses for neuromorphic computing”.
