EE Teams Won Four Student Paper Awards in the 21st IEEE (HK) AP/MTT Postgraduate Conference

Our PhD students and graduates have won the Antenna and Propagation Student Paper Award and Microwave Theory and Techniques Student Paper Award in the 21st IEEE (HK) AP/MTT Postgraduate Conference which was held virtually on 21 November 2020.

Antenna and Propagation Student Paper Award
First Prize
“A Terahertz On-Chip Antenna with Wide Impedance and Gain Bandwidths”
Winners: Mr Kong Shangcheng and Mr Shum Kam Man
Supervisor: Prof C H Chan

Second Prize
“Terahertz High-gain Open Resonator Antenna Based on Silicon-Etching and Imprinting”
Winners: Mr Li Yuan Long and Dr Zhu Shu Yan
Supervisors: Prof K M Luk and Prof Sella Pang

Third Prize
“A Dual-Polarized Lens Antenna Using Gradient Refractive Index (GRIN) Metasurface”
Winners: Mr To Yat Sing and Dr Lin Quenwei
Supervisor: Dr Steve Wong

Microwave Theory and Techniques Student Paper Award
Second Prize
“Highly Reconfigurable Dual-band Coupler with Independently Tunable Frequency and Coupling Coefficient at the Lower Band”
Winners: Mr Yang Ye, Mr Pan Yufei and Dr Zheng Shaoyong
Supervisor: Dr W S Chan

The conference is jointly organized by IEEE Hong Kong Section AP/MTT Joint Chapter, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The main purpose is to enhance the communications among the postgraduate students in the region and to provide a platform for ideas exchange on the current research focus of the related fields.
