First Prize of 2013/14 Samsung Solve For Tomorrow Competition

Our ECE student (2013 entering major),  Mr LAI Chun Tak, has recently won the First Prize of 2013/14 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Competition in the tertiary school category for his project titled "New Concept of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning System".  Acknowledgement has to go to the Gateway Education Lab for printing the project prototype and the Division of Building Science and Technology, CityU at where the student pursued his Associate Degree.

By asking students to develop ideas for how technology can be used to solve environmental issues faced by the city, the competition aims to inspire students’ greater awareness in protecting the environment, making Hong Kong a greener and smarter place to live in.

Three EE students, Mr PANG Chak Man (BEngCE), Mr CHING Hong Yan (BEngECE) and Mr Tian Yuan (MScMIT student), have won prizes at “I Like Tech@CityU Student Contest” and “My Own Discovery Contest” by showcasing their learning adventure on innovation and discovery.

IEEE MTT-S Undergraduate/Pre-graduate Scholarship for Spring 2014

Our BEngECE final year student, Mr ZHANG Lei, was awarded the IEEE MTT-S Undergraduate/Pre-graduate Scholarship for Spring 2014 by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S), USA. This is the sixth time our students received this award. His winning research project proposal is called "Thermal Power Reuse in Power Amplifier Design" which is co-supervised by Prof K W LEUNG and Dr Leung CHIU (Adjunct Professor of EE).
