Prof H C So has been elected the Member of the National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI) 2026 in recognition of his scholarly achievements, professional leadership, and contributions to advancing artificial intelligence.
Prof So is recognized for his sustained contributions to signal processing and machine learning, particularly in sparse recovery, matrix completion, robust estimation, source localization, and federated learning. His recent work, featuring advances in sparsity inducing regularizers, robust low rank matrix recovery, and byzantine resilient learning under heterogeneity, has strengthened the theoretical foundations and practical reliability of AI systems.
