Gifted Education Fund

Generative AI and AIoT (GenAIoT) Coding Skills Education for Gifted Students

This programme teaches students knowledge related to AI, GenAI and AIoT technologies, and enhances their skills in engineering, mathematics and programming. It also covers ethics of using AI technology, and how to distinguish between real and fake contents.

Target: 50 students (Secondary 4-5)
Programme Delivery Period: May 2024 - Jan 2025
Application Deadline: 19 Apr 2024

Prof Stella Pang has been elected the Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences (HKAES) 2023, a supreme recognition that Prof Pang is an eminent leader in low damage nanofabrication technology for microsystems and devices as well as an outstanding educator in Electrical Engineering and STEM. Mr MA Tianlu (PhD student) has been awarded the First Prize and Best Presentation Award at the 2nd IEEE PELS Student Symposium on Power Electronics in Asia. The winning project, supervised by Prof Derrick Jiang, is called " Periodic Energy Control: A Novel Control Strategy for Wireless Power Transfer System". The symposium aims to promote the exchange and development of students in the field of power electronics in Asia. Prof Din-ping Tsai (Chair Professor), Prof Mu-ku Chen (Assistant Professor), Miss Xiaoyuan Liu (PhD student under supervision of Prof Tsai), and Prof Takuo Tanaka (Chief Scientist, Metamaterials Laboratory, RIKEN) have won the Best Paper Award at International Symposium on Imaging Sensing, and Optical Memory (ISOM 2023). The winning paper is titled “Intelligent Meta-devices for Aerial, Land, and Underwater Imaging”. ISOM was first held in 1985. It now covers fields in optical memory, imaging, sensing, and other related technologies for scientific interaction and collaboration.
