Prof Evelyn Hu being appointed Senior Fellow of Hong Kong Institute for Advanced Study (HKIAS)

Prof Evelyn Hu, Honorary Professor of EE Department and the Tarr-Coyne Professor of Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering at Harvard University, has been appointed as Senior Fellow of Hong Kong Institute for Advanced Study (HKIAS), City University of Hong Kong (https://www.ias.cityu.edu.hk/en/people/senior-fellow).

HKIAS appoints Fellows from the ranks of scholars and researchers who are internationally recognized leaders in their fields. Prof Hu’s research focuses on high-resolution fabrication of compound semiconductor electronic and optoelectronic devices, candidate structures for the realization of quantum computation schemes, and on novel device structures formed through the heterogeneous integration of materials. She has also developed biological approaches to the formation of electronic and photonic materials. Prof Hu is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Academia Sinica of Taiwan, a recipient of an NSF Distinguished Teaching Fellow award, an AAAS Lifetime Mentor Award, and a Fellow of the IEEE. She also holds an honorary Doctorate of Engineering from the University of Glasgow and an honorary Doctorate of Science from Heriot Watt University.

By joining HKIAS, Prof Hu will work with and mentor research fellows, young scholars and students through distinguished lectures, seminars, workshops, and many other activities and events.
