CityUHK Information Day 2024
CityUHK Information Day was held on 5 October 2024 where thousands of prospective students and parents visited our exhibition booth, informative programme talks and interesting laboratory tours to get a glimpse of Electrical Engineering, our majors, career prospects, student life, and the learning environment at CityUHK-EE.
We were so happy to see that visitors were amazed and impressed by the innovative projects developed by our professors and students.

[EEHS]PhD Application Workshop
We are more than delighted to have 27 participants and all the EEHS Executive Committee members participate in this PhD Application Workshop on Oct.4th, 2024. With the spareless sharing by our distinguished guest speakers Prof. Alex WONG and Mr. YAN Boxun, our participants learned more about PhD student life and gained valuable experience in PhD application. The event lasted for 1.5 hours, providing immense opportunities for interaction and learning for all attendees.

EE Student Orientation 2024
EE Student Orientation was held on 28 August 2024 (Undergraduate students), 29 August 2024 (Master students) and 5 September 2024 (PhD students) to extend our warmest welcome to the new students joining the EE family. It was exciting and happy to meet some 380 students on campus and exchange with them.
Various informative sessions were arranged to let students know more about the Department, the programme, student learning support and graduate career outlook. Big welcome again and may we wish you all a fulfilling and wonderful journey with EE!

The JUPAS Programme Information Session cum Group Interviews 2024
The JUPAS Programme Information Session cum group interviews were successfully conducted on 5 July 2024, with approximately 380 F.6 students who had selected JS1205 as one of their preferred areas of study. These students were serious in their final choice of studies and participated this event.
The event commenced with an inspirational talk and programme information session by Prof. Ray Cheung and Prof. Katie Chan. They provided an overview of our programme, highlighting the successes of our EE graduates and the growth of the EE sector in the recent job market. Subsequently, the students were divided into groups. They were given a demonstration of robots by our RoboCon team, and a showcase of graduation project and personal experience by our graduates who have launched their own start-up company. Parallel sessions of group interviews were also arranged.
During the event, all students expressed their enthusiasm for studying EE and their admiration for the latest technologies and their applications.

Admission Interview and Information Session 2024 for Local Direct Applicants
Four sessions of admission interviews and the programme information sessions were arranged for prospective local non-JUPAS (direct) applicants by the Department of Electrical Engineering. The early round admissions interview has been conducted in early January 2024 and the main round from March to July 2024. About 255 students mainly from UOW College Hong Kong, HKU Space Community College, PolyU HK Community College, and the Vocational Training Council (Wong Haking & Shatin campuses) participated. The Admission Tutor Professor Katie Chan introduced to the students about the department, the programmes, and the admission information; while our current EE students were so enthusiastic to share their University life and various learning experiences with the participants. Online Zoom group interviews were conducted on those days.

Commencement 2024 – EE Sessions
We are proud to present our graduates of 2024 at the Commencement of EE Sessions held on 19 June 2024. About 250 graduates, their families and friends, and EE professors attended the ceremony to share the joyful and exciting moment together.
The presentation of EE Annual Awards was conducted on the same occasion to celebrate the achievements of outstanding EE alumni and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the Department. The big day ended joyfully with group photo-taking among graduates and EE professors.

CityUHK JUPAS Consultation Day 2024
CityUHK JUPAS Consultation Day was held on 18 May 2024. EE faculty and student ambassadors were there to share with high school students and DSE candidates how Electrical Engineering shaping the world, the learning exposures offered by the Department, and the career outlook of the discipline.
A programme talk was also delivered by Prof Katie Chan (Admission Tutor) to advise programme highlights, the promising career prospects of EE graduates, and CityUHK’s flexible admission arrangement.

EE Final Year Project Competition 2024
The Final Year Project (FYP) Competition was successfully held on 14 May 2024. This year, six projects were shortlisted to enter the Final in way of poster presentation. All contestants were enthusiastic and professional in introducing their innovative and novel ideas in their project works. They also addressed all questions from the judges professionally.
The judging team for FYP competition this year was composed of our Adjunct Professor from industry and five faculty judges.
