Virtual CityU Information Day 2021

EEHS Internship Sharing
Electrical Engineering Honor Society (EEHS) organized an Internship Sharing for all EE students on 8 October 2021 via Zoom.
The sharing invited four speakers from different companies/institutions to share their internship experiences. All the participants enjoyed the sharing and found it’s very useful as this is an opportunity to enhance their understanding about career prospects as well as make better plans for their near future.

Electrical Engineering Honor Society (EEHS) and Electrical Engineering Student Chapter (EESC) - Green Tomato Company Visit
EEHS and EESC organized a half-day company visit at Green Tomato (GT) on 24 September 2021. In this visit, students knew more about IT industry such as the differences between front end and back end. GT also kindly shared their experience which encouraged the students to find their interests and future career path.
It was a great opportunity for them to get in touch with the actual working environment like routine operation of IT industry through this activity. All of the participants found the visit valuable and meaningful. Green Tomato (GT) is a Hong Kong based innovation consultancy that provided mobile application services to a variety of industries like KFC, Pizza Hut, HSBC, etc.

One Health @ CityU x France
In an age of globalisation, the world increasingly recognizes the complex and close interconnections between humans, animals and their environments. In order to best protect ourselves from disease outbreaks, it is imperative for professionals from all areas of expertise to coordinate on future initiatives using the One Health approach.
To tackle these pressing subjects, City University of Hong Kong, Campus France and the Consulate General of France, in partnership with four leading French higher education institutions (Grenoble Ecole de Management; ISC Paris; Nantes-Atlantic National College of Veterinary Medicine, Food Science and Engineering; and Centrale Nantes), will organise two panels to discuss biotechnology and the contributions of veterinary medicine & engineering to the ”One Health” approach.
A focus on related new job opportunities, key skills for tomorrow’s One Health leaders and relevant academic training opportunities will be introduced throughout the debates and Q&A sessions.
