Ir Prof. Alan Lam, EE Adjunct Professor, is the founder of Sengital Limited, where he has successfully led the company to win numerous technology awards and secured multiple patents. During the EE seminar titled “From Research to Reality – The Journey of a Successful Tech Entrepreneur,” held on November 5, 2024, Prof. Lam shared his personal journey from university research to establishing several highly successful technology companies.

In the seminar, Prof. Lam highlighted the key insights and challenges he faced while transforming academic research into market-ready products. He emphasized the importance of innovation, perseverance, and strategic planning in entrepreneurship, and discussed how to effectively navigate the transition from academia to the commercial sector. Students gained invaluable knowledge on building a solid foundation for launching a startup, securing funding, and scaling a business sustainably. The seminar also provided practical advice and inspiration to help students embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.

The event attracted nearly a hundred enthusiastic students from various academic years.
