Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate Analytics recognizes researchers who have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their publication of multiple highly cited papers over the last decade. These highly cited papers rank in the top 1% by citations for a field or fields and publication year in the Web of Science.
Prof Michael Tse, Chair Professor of EE, has received Second Place for the 2021 IEEE Power Electronics Society Transactions Prize Paper Award. The winning paper, co-authored with scholars from Harbin Institute of Technology, is titled “General pathways to higher order compensation circuits for IPT converters via sensitivity analysis”.
Their paper was ranked as one of the best of the awarded papers from a total of 1233 papers published in the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics in 2021. Being selected for this award is a high honor and a tribute to the fine research quality, presentation, and potential impact that the research has on the field.
Dr Haoliang LI, Assistant Professor of EE, has received the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award at the International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA) 2022. The winning paper, co-authored with scholars from CityU, Nanyang Technological University, and Singapore Management University, is titled “Cross-Lingual Transfer Learning for Statistical Type Inference”.
The ACM SIGSOFT ISSTA is one of the top international conferences in operated system/software engineering/programming language that brings together academics, industrial researchers, and practitioners on how to analyze and test software systems.
Prof Ron Chen (Chair Professor of EE) and Prof Chengqing Li (2008 PhD graduate supervised by Prof Chen and now Professor at Xiangtan University) have received the Guillemin-Cauer Best Paper Award 2022 by IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. The winning paper, co-authored with Mr Bingbing Feng (2018 MS student of Prof Li), Prof Shujun Li (Professor at Kent University and Postdoc of Prof Chen in 2003 – 2005) and Prof Jergen Kurths (Professor at Humboldt University of Berlin) is titled “Dynamic Analysis of Digital Chaotic Maps via State-Mapping Networks” and published in IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems (Volume 66, Issue 6, June 2019).
The award established in 1968 is to recognize the best paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems. The award is highly competitive and the winning paper this year is selected among 3300 eligible papers considering the general quality, originality, contributions, subject matter, and timeliness. It is the second time for Prof Chen to receive this award and the first time was in 2005.
Prof K M Luk, Chair Professor of EE, has been honored with the 14th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award (光華工程科技獎) by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (中國工程院), most significant recognition of his seminal contributions to Electromagnetic Field and Antenna Technology (電磁場及天線技術).
Established in 1996, the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award is presented biennially to honor outstanding Chinese engineers and scientists who have made outstanding achievements and significant contributions in the field of engineering technology and engineering management. To know more about the award this year, please visit Ta Kung Pao and Weixin.
This is regarded as the highest award in the field of Engineering Science and Technology in China. It is very competitive among the best engineers and scientists. This year, a total of 39 scientists from all over the country including Hong Kong and Macao are selected from among 340 eligible candidates. Prof Luk is one of the three Hong Kong scholars being honored with this award.
