Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate Analytics recognizes researchers who have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their field(s) of research over the last decade. Research names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations in one or more fields in Essential Science Indicators (ESI). This preliminary list is then refined with the information that lies beneath, using qualitative analysis and expert judgment to come up with the final list of Highly Cited Researchers. The paper “Radar: Reliable Resource Scheduling for Composable/Disaggregated Data Centers” authored by Prof Moshe Zukerman, Chair Professor of EE, is selected as the State of the Art (SOA) paper by IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (Volume: 19, Issue: 8, August 2023).
The SAO paper is accessible here.
Prof Michael Tse, Chair Professor of EE, has received First Place in 2022 IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL) Prize Paper Award. The winning paper, co-authored with scholars from Southeast University, Nanjing, is titled “A Family of Hybrid IPT Couplers With High Tolerance to Pad Misalignment”.
TPEL is one of the most impactful journals in the field of power electronics. The award aims to recognize four first prize papers and six second prize papers deemed best among those published in the Transactions during the preceding calendar year. Prof Tse received the Second Prize Paper Award in 2021 as well.
Journal paper "Directional dipole dice enabled by anisotropic chirality", authored by Dr Alex Wong (Assistant Professor of EE), Dr Dangyuan Lei (Associate Professor of MSE), and Dr Shubo Wang (Assistant Professor of PHY), has been published in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) on 12 June 2023.
PNAS is regarded as one of the world's top academic journals. It is so excited that Dr Wong as a young faculty member having paper published in such an international top journal.
According to Dr Wong: “The directional dipole dice is a helical element that can act as a circular dipole, Huygens dipole or Janus dipole when excited by plane waves with the appropriate direction and polarization. These dipoles have distinctive near-field directionalities which allow one to direct electromagnetic wave coupling into waveguides in different directions, like how traffic lights direct traffic flow through intersections.”.
