The exhibition is the world’s most important event exclusively dedicated to inventions. It offers a unique opportunity for universities, inventors and researchers, industrial and commercial companies, associations, private and state organisms and institutions to present the results of their research, their inventions, and their new products.

Dr Alex Yu, Assistant Professor of EE, has received the 2023 IEEE Communications Society Katherine Johnson Young Author Paper Award. The winning paper, co-authored with scholars from HKUST, The Pennsylvania State University, University of New South Wales, and Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen Nürnberg, is titled “Robust and secure wireless communications via intelligent reflecting surfaces”.
The awarded paper was published in IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications in 2020, which is the top technical journal in the IEEE Communications Society. The award honors the author(s) of an especially meritorious paper dealing with a subject related to the Society’s technical scope and who, upon the date of submission of the paper, is less than 30 years of age.

Eleven EE faculty are on the Best Scientists List 2023 according to the D-index, publications and citations collected on December 21st, 2022 by Research.com, Prof Ron Chen, Chair Profess of EE, is ranked the third in the world and the first in China in the arena of “Electronics and Electrical Engineering”.
