(JS1205) Programme Information Session and Interviews for JUPAS Applicants 2025 by CityUHK-Electrical Engineering
CityUHK EE will hold a Programme Information Session and Interviews for JUPAS Applicants. Students will join an information session to know about the programme, meet with our Admission Tutors and professors, receive first-hand sharing from current students, and get a chance to ask us questions.

Honorable Long Servicing EE Staff
Among the award recipients were 23 EE professors, technical staff and administrative staff who have worked at CityU for 10 years to 30 years. Some of them who have served the University for 25 years or 30 years were presented awards by President Kuo and senior management at the ceremony. Our achievements and successes are down to the dedication and professionalism of these valuable staff. Our heartfelt thanks to all of them!

OIS Final Presentation Competition
EE and Five Technology Organizations Establish Joint Laboratories to Drive Research and Commercialisation
CityU EE Joint Lab is a “Government-Industry-Academic-Research Centre” scheme for collaboration between EE Department and industrial associations, research centres, corporates and organisations. This scheme includes physical lab logo wall setup in the EE Department; an online platform linked up with the EE Department website to share the progress of collaboration and projects; a series of regular networking events for industrialists, faculty members, and students, etc.. The Joint Lab aims to empower recruitment, research collaboration, commercialisation, and technology transfer.

Prominent Scholar from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, shared on "Facing Trade Wars in the Information Age”
This seminar aimed at exploring trade war and its relationship to IP protection as well as providing legal advice to protect important research and business information. During the visit, she also joined the science and engineering female faculty meeting. Her sharing at the seminar and the meeting stimulated vibrant discussion among faculty, researchers and students.

Student Induction 2019 - Big Welcome to EE Newly Admitted Students
It was so exciting and happy that over 300 students and professors met and greeted on the days. Apart from different informative sessions to let students know more about the Department, the majors or programmes related matters, student learning support and graduate career outlook, lunch gatherings were arranged for students to meet and chat with all our professors. What a nice start! May the youngsters flourish and enjoy studying EE.

Distinguished Scholar, Professor Evelyn L. Hu, from Harvard University Stimulating Academic Exchange
This seminar highlighted the studies in 4H-SiC of defects (qubits), integrated within photonic amplifiers. There was lively discussion after the presentation fostering in-depth exchanges among faculty, researchers and students. She also met with our new faculty and joined the science and engineering female faculty meeting to share her insights and visions with us.

Sharing of Best Practices in Lecture Preparation
Their talks coupled with highlights of guidelines on teaching by Prof Stella Pang (Head of Department) were all inspiring to faculty members on getting start their teaching in a new academic year.

JS1205 Programme Information Session and its complementary mBot Workshop
F.6 students who were serious in their final choice of studies joined the Programme Information Session for JUPAS Applicants on 26 June which comprised an interactive Technology Play acted by 3 EE students showcasing the latest student-faculty innovative projects, a talk on “Programme and Career Opportunities” introducing our programme and the bloom of EE sector in the recent job market, and parallel sessions of conversations with EE professors at the end to wrap up the day.
On the next day in the mBot workshop, participants were given a challenge to build, programme and remote control an mBot to compete in a car race against each other.

CityU EE International Summer Programme 2019
The Department partnered with four overseas universities for the Summer Exchange Programme this year. They offered EE-related courses along with company visits, local field trips and cultural activities for our 50 EE students. In parallel, we ran our on-campus-residential summer programme during 5 July 2019 – 10 August 2019 to receive 57 overseas students of our exchange partners. Themed “Remote Controlled Land Hovercraft”, the training was conducted on combined lecture-laboratory basis. Students built a mini land hovercraft from scratch, starting from circuit and signal design, 3D printing, wireless control to Android programming.
It was really fun to everyone!

EE Shenzhen Technical Visit 2019
The dramatic development of the innovations- and digital-driven industry in Qianhai, where gigantic tech firms such as Kingdee and Huawei are situated, is something EE students must not miss out in terms of paving the way of future career development. EE department would like to offer different opportunities to our EE students to have a chance to explore and learn more about the world high tech environment. The main purpose of this activity is to arouse and cultivate students’ interests in and enhance their knowledge of the recent development of Qianhai New District, and Shenzhen City.
