Gifted Education Fund
This 7-month programme teaches high school students essential knowledge and skills related to AI, IoT, edge computing, and microelectronics technologies. It also seeks to empower them with coding, engineering, and mathematics skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. These soft and hands-on skills will enable them to develop applications that can solve current and future world problems.
Intake: 50 students (Secondary 1-5, HKAGE member)

Admission Interview and Information Session 2024 for Local Direct Applicants
Four sessions of admission interviews and the programme information sessions were arranged for prospective local non-JUPAS (direct) applicants by the Department of Electrical Engineering. The early round admissions interview has been conducted in early January 2024 and the main round from March to July 2024. About 255 students mainly from UOW College Hong Kong, HKU Space Community College, PolyU HK Community College, and the Vocational Training Council (Wong Haking & Shatin campuses) participated.
The JUPAS Programme Information Session cum Group Interviews 2024
The event commenced with an inspirational talk and programme information session by Prof. Ray Cheung and Prof. Katie Chan. They provided an overview of our programme, highlighting the successes of our EE graduates and the growth of the EE sector in the recent job market. Subsequently, the students were divided into groups. They were given a demonstration of robots by our RoboCon team, and a showcase of graduation project and personal experience by our graduates who have launched their own start-up company. Parallel sessions of group interviews were also arranged.

A programme talk was also delivered by Prof Katie Chan (Admission Tutor) to advise programme highlights, the promising career prospects of EE graduates, and CityUHK’s flexible admission arrangement.

It also aims to nurture positive values and attitudes, such as ethics of using AI technology, ability to distinguish between real and fake contents, and perseverance to overcome problems.

This 9-month programme teaches high-school students essential knowledge and skills related to cryptography and FinTech, covering major topics such as blockchain, smart contracts and digital assets. Relevant foundation mathematics will be introduced and coding tasks are offered wherever appropriate.
Target: 40 students (Secondary 3-5 in the 2022/23 School Year)
Programme Delivery Period : May 2023 – January 2024
