For Final Year Project (FYP) Competition, a total of 32 projects entered the semi-final which was a poster session. All semi-finalists were enthusiastic and professional in introducing their innovative and novel ideas in their project works. Six of them were immediately selected after the semi-final to compete in the final round held on the same day.

As for Product Design (PD) Competition, there were a total of five teams participated and worked on the product titled “Remote-controlled Airship”.

The judging team for FYP/PD competitions this year was composed of seven guests from industry. They are:

• Mr Kelvin TSE, APAC Technical Manager, RS Components Limited; and
• Ir Andrew YOUNG, Associate Director (Innovation & Technology), Sino Land Company Limited

Together with our FYP faculty judges – Dr Nelson CHAN, Dr Rosa CHAN, Prof Guanrong CHEN (final round), Prof K S CHIANG, Dr Y J CHUN, Dr Joshua LEE, Prof Andrew LEUNG, Prof K W LEUNG, Dr S H LEUNG, Prof K M LUK (Head judge of final round), Dr Albert SUNG, Dr Cheng WANG, Dr Yixuan YUAN and Prof Moshe ZUKERMAN; and PD faculty judge Prof Henry Chung – all the participating guests, staff and students were deeply impressed by the novelty and innovation in the student works as well as students’ excellent presentations.
